How do I get involved in the Wandering Scribble Project?
There are two main ways to get involved in the project: you can start a new book, or you can receive a scribbled book.
Adding a Book
- Get a book that you want to give.
- Preferably, get a used book. Used books are much cheaper, and books in the project are meant to be written in and used, which means they'll get worn in eventually. For places to get used books, click here.
- What kind of book should you get? You decide. I suggest picking a book you really like. Click here for book recommendations.
- Add your name, location, and other information to the book.
- If you register the book online first, you can get a unique ID!
- Read through the book and write your notes as you go.
- Pass the book on to someone.
- If you have time, write the date and location you're giving the book away.
- If you have time, explain the project and introduce yourself to the person if you don't know him/her.
- Read, write, repeat!

Ideas and Suggestions
Who should you give a scribbled book to?
- A friend - you can make it a nice personalized gift
- A teacher - thank a good professor
- A stranger - make a new friend
- Try giving the book to someone you'd like to get to know better.
General Suggestions
- If you received a book, you should write your name on a different page, just in case one gets ruined.
- Write your name on the same page as your first comment, so people can tell who's doing the writing.
- Use a readable ink color!
- Try not to block the book text!
